Veteran defensive end Jerry Hughes signs with Texans jersey

On Tuesday, NFL Network reporters reported that the Texans will sign veteran defensive end Jerry Hughes.

Texans general manager Nick Caserio has added a number of veteran defensive ends to the team, in addition to Hughes, Mario Addison and Rasheem Green ) has also signed with the team.

Hughes was the longest-serving player on the Bills roster last season. He played all 17 games, but only participated in 51.8% of the defense, the lowest of his career.

Hughes was a first-round pick by the Colts in 2010, but he struggled with the Colts and was traded to the Bills three years later. He had 10 sacks in each of his first two years with the Bills, and was the team’s best pass rusher last season (20.9 percent). Hughes finished fourth in franchise history with 53 sacks for the Bills.
